Aquarium

Here I’m showcasing my aquariums and paludariums. They range in size from 1 litre to 380 litres.

Each one is a fascinating little world of its own, with an interesting hardscape and its own inhabitants.

The Smallest Thing That’s Actually Huge

My smallest aquarium, the Cunzo Mini Tank from Malaysia, with a capacity of just one litre. The filter is housed within the base unit. A GU 10 smart home LED bulb provides the right lighting.

OF COURSE, NO FISH or other animals are kept in this aquarium. It is for decorative purposes only.

The mini pond for the home

The Pondaquarium from the Spanish manufacturer BLAU, with a capacity of 17 litres, is a sort of small pond.

These aquariums are very shallow and are also suitable for small pond plants. Naturally, I don’t keep any fish in this one either, but rather small shrimps and small snails.

A mini hang-on filter from Aquael ensures effective filtration.

The 30-litre Cube in Scorpion style

This small cube from the Polish manufacturer Aquael is ideal for keeping small shrimps and snails.

A small Aquael hang-on filter is also used for filtration here.

The lighting is controlled via GU10 LED smart home bulbs.

Aquarium art at its finest, ADA

The Japanese company ADA Aqua Design Armano is arguably the best-known designer aquarium manufacturer, renowned for its exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

This 60 P aquarium, made from white glass and designed to meet the highest standards, is arguably the finest available in the aquarium industry. It is powered by a small Eheim Classic external filter and GU10 LED smart home bulbs.

The 140-litre Wurzel aquarium

My bespoke white glass aquarium with lovely plants, a beautiful large moor root and a school of guppies.

Harmoniously arranged, with an Eheim Classic filter and smart home lighting.

The 150-litre Platy Cube

This 150-litre cube, made from 1 cm-thick glass, is home to platies, snails and small shrimps.

At the centre is a large, tall piece of driftwood that extends above the water. A beautiful bromeliad is attached to it.

The aquarium is also densely planted, which is ideal for the platies to breed.

The 160-litre guppy aquarium

This 1-metre-long aquarium is stocked with guppies, small shrimps and snails.

It is densely planted, providing ideal conditions for breeding guppies.

The aquarium is filtered using a JBL external filter.

The Fascination of Saltwater Aquariums

A saltwater aquarium is certainly always something special. This 1.20-metre-long tank, filled with 240 litres of saltwater, contains a large, two-part reef structure.

In the background, there is a lush algae bed. The aquarium is powered solely by flow pumps. A Fluval LED Smart lamp is used for lighting.

Axolotls, the little water dragons

The axolotls are kept in my 1.50-metre-long, 300-litre aquarium. The aquarium is very densely planted and the substrate consists of pure sand.

Filtration is provided by the Aquael Ultra Max external filter. The aquarium is lit using LED G10 Smart Home bulbs.

Amazonas Aquarium

My largest aquarium is the 1.50-metre-long Amazon Aquarium, which holds 375 litres.

It is home to various species of fish. Three large driftwood pieces and dense planting create a natural look.

The aquarium is filtered using an Aquael Ultra Tank external filter. The lighting is controlled by LED GU10 smart home bulbs.

Goldfish bowl Aquarium

One of my smallest aquariums, a goldfish bowl. It has a small filter and lighting.

Of course, there are no fish or prawns in it – at 12 litres, it’s simply far too small for that.

Paludarium

My 20-, 30- and 50-litre paludariums are something special. They combine a terrarium with an aquarium. The result is a fascinating riverside landscape complete with waterfalls.

Of course, I don’t keep any animals in these paludariums, apart from small snails. They’re too small for that.
